College football brings a big Thursday night game featuring ACC rivals Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. If the Virginia Tech win tonight, they would eliminate not only Georgia Tech but also Miami in the ACC battlefield.

Virginia Tech Hokies are currently ranked number 10 team in the country with an 8-1 record. Their only loss was came from Clemson on which they got dominated in that game, at home. Since then though they have won four straight, including wins over Miami and Wake Forest.

Having a good defensive play, Hokies rank 7th in the nation in rushing yards surrendered. They also rank sixth in the nation allowing 86.3 rushing yards per contest. And tonight, they will face the team with the second-best running attack in the country.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is currently at No. 20 in the country with a 7-2 record. A win over Virginia Tech would put them tied at an overall record and in-conference record, but would give Georgia Tech the all-crucial tiebreaker advantage from the head to head win. So a win here and they could get themselves into the ACC title picture, something that didn’t seem possible last weekend.

Yellow Jackets averages 41.0 points during a six-game home winning streak. When it comes to rushing, Georgia Tech averages 328.0 rushing yards. A 383-yard achievement on the ground in a 31-17 home win over previously undefeated and then-No. 6 Clemson on Oct. 29 was one of their contributing factor in offense. This was a good comeback after the Yellow Jackets fell in consecutive games at Virginia and Miami.
