Daytona 500 Start Time and Live Streaming TV Schedule, Feb 27, 2012 - NASCAR's season-opening race for this year was postponed Sunday for the first time in its 54-year history. The Daytona 500 forced to hold the flags and green light after heavy rain poured in the tracks of Daytona International Speedway. Long wait has been done but when the latest storm cell passed over the speedway around 5 PM, the wait ended up to a rescheduled race which come up to a Monday noon race.
On its timeline, the Daytona 500 scheduled to start at 1:00 PM. However, the forecast of radar leads to a prediction of 80 percent chance to rain again an hour after 1:00 PM. Therefore, the race will still be affected and hence, not to finish.
AFterwards, predictions broadcast that the clouds will be cleared around 4PM. Considering that the track may be dried out for about 2 hours, the race will be pushed later at 7:00 PM.
NASCAR pushed the start ofDaytona 500 to Monday night at 7:00 PM ET. The race will run under the lights on and will be broadcasted in primetime slot. Although many fans are disappointed with the delayed of the race, they have no choice but have to wait until the sky cleared up and the tracks got dried.
The Daytona 500 starting grid will be headed by runner-up Carl Edwards and last year's champion Tony Stewart in the pole. Crowd's and press pricness Former IndyCar star Danica Patrick will make her Daytona 500 debut tonight.
