American Music Awards 2012 on ABC - Let's take a look now what's happening in the American music industry. The 40th American Music Awards will be held tonight, November 18, 2012, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The awards recognized the most popular artists and albums from the year 2012.
Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational and for the first year ever--Electronic Dance Music where David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skrillex compete in the said electronic dance music category.
Taylor Swift, Usher, Pink and Pitbull will take the stage. Christina Aguilera, Linkin Park, Nicki Minaj, No Doubt, Carrie Underwood and Ke$ha also will perform. The 'Gangnam Style' man Psy will be also performing.
Justin Bieber, Drake, Maroon 5, Perry and Rihanna are on the roll for the 2012 Artist of the Year prize.
Big numbers of nominations were received by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna l with four nominations each, followed by Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon5, One Direction and Usher with three each. Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, fun, Gotye, J. Cole, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan and Pitbull each garnered two nominations.
